This Mars retrograde happens in the warrior’s home sign of Aries. Mars will square up with Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn three times each, making this a potent and pressurized season. We are being given a powerful opportunity to break through, and break free, from the most stubborn patterns that have been holding us back. We can use this pressure to our advantage, in order to really be ready to turn a corner into a new reality for 2021.
Mars is impatient and wants action. Mars retrograde can bring frustration about not being able to move forward. In square to the power player planets in Capricorn, we are coming up against the structures of our lives that are standing in the way of our progress in moving into the New.
This Mars retrograde season lasts from the end of July through the end of the year. During that time, Venus will also square up with the Capricorn planets, at the end of August from the sign of Cancer, and again in November, from the sign of Libra.
Mercury in Libra will also square up with Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn in the second half of September. Mercury will turn retrograde in October in the sign of Scorpio, and will retrograde back into Libra. Mercury will turn direct on November 3rd, Election Day in the US. Mercury will square up with Saturn as it turns direct, for the first week of November.
Mars will turn direct on November 13th. But we won’t really feel like we are moving again until Mars exits his retrograde shadow on January 1, 2021.
